Dr. Anish Mahajan, MD, MS, MPH

Anish MahajanAnish Mahajan is Director of System Planning, Improvement, and Data Analytics for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS), where he helps lead organizational transformation under the Affordable Care Act and oversees multiple system-wide units including the Office of Planning & Data Analytics, Enterprise Health Information Management Division, Supply Chain Operations, Audit & Compliance Division, and Section 1115 Medicaid Waiver performance improvement initiatives. With an annual budget of over $3.5 Billion, Los Angeles County DHS is the country’s 2nd largest public health care system and provides services to over 600,000 individuals each year within its directly operated hospitals and ambulatory care centers. Since October 2013, he has also served as Chair of the Board of the Los Angeles Network for Enhanced Services (LANES), a 501(c)(3) organization that is establishing a Health Information Exchange for Los Angeles. Anish is a practicing internist and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Health Services Research at UCLA. He has published peer-reviewed articles in Annals of Internal Medicine, American Journal of Public Health, and others. In 2009 and 2010, he served as a White House Fellow in the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), where he served as a special advisor to Director Peter Orszag. At OMB, he worked on health reform, rule development for the HITECH Act, and other health policy strategy and regulation.

Ms. Brooke Bodart, BASDH, MPA

Brooke BodartBrooke Bodart is a Registered Dental Hygienist with a Masters of Public Affairs, working as the Clinical Programs Manager at Center for Oral Health (COH).  She received her BASDH at St. Petersburg College and her MPA from Indiana University South Bend.  Brooke has extensive experience as a dental hygienist in family practice, prosthodontics, and public health settings.  As an educator, Brooke has taught as an adjunct instructor at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College and was a Clinical Lecturer at Indiana University South Bend.  She served as the second year clinical coordinator and developed didactic courses in Periodontics, Public Health, Clinical Care, and Senior Capstone for dental hygiene students. In her role at COH, Brooke provides clinical and provider education and helps COH and WUCDM joint efforts in Southern California to institute a coordinated, patient-centered system of care and establish dental homes for thousands of children.

Dr. Hal Yee Jr, MD, PhD

Hal Yee Jr, MD, PhD, is Chief Medical Officer for the Los Angeles County Department of Health ServicesHal Yee Jr, MD, PhD, is Chief Medical Officer for the Los Angeles County Department of Health Services. In this role he helps lead the nation’s largest county health system, including 4 academic hospitals, associated with UCLA or USC, and a large ambulatory care network. Previously, he was Chief Medical Officer and Chief of Gastroenterology at San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center; Rice Memorial Distinguished Professor of Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco; and founding director of the UCSF-SFGH Center for Innovation in Access and Quality. Dr. Yee graduated from Punahou School and Brown University, received his MD and PhD from UCLA, and completed internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at UCSF. He has had over 20 years of uninterrupted extramural grant funding and authored over 80 publications, including many focused on improving the quality and efficiency of health care using information technology. He conceived of and helped lead implementation and evaluation of an award-winning electronic specialty care referral and consultation management system in San Francisco’s health care safety net. This system has transformed access to, and the quality of, specialty care around the nation, including Los Angeles.
